My name is Kamila. I live in Jersey City, NJ with my husband, our dog, a really cool kitty cat, about a hundred house plants, a vegetable garden filled with tomatoes and cucumbers, and a wood shop where I refinish wood furniture I find on the street.

And no, you do not have to adjust your eyes, my name is indeed VERY similar to Vice Prez Kamala Harris. However, I’m not Kamala (COMMA-la). I’m Kamila (kah-MEE-lah). Don’t worry, I will not be bringing any secret service agents to your wedding, but I will definitely be bringing kindness, inclusivity, feminism and the general belief that Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ rights are human rights, so I’m definitely with Kamala there.

I have been photographing weddings for 20 (YES TWENTY!!) years, which means I have hundreds of weddings under my belt. I’ve seen it all, and I can handle pretty much any lighting situation, weather, venue, family dynamic - you name it. (It also means that the flower girls from some of my first weddings are now getting married themselves and I can’t exactly handle this information but it’s fine, I’m fine, everything’s fine.)

I absolutely put my entire heart into every single wedding and I really can't see myself doing anything else! I still get the nervous butterflies before each wedding, get teary-eyed at every ceremony, and dance with my camera at every reception. I have a calm energy, and my photography style is honest and natural, capturing the real moments, and creating some really stunning portraits too.

On a personal note, I love to give back, and a portion of my income is donated monthly to several organizations that are close to my heart. If you like puppies and women’s rights, we’ll get along just fine.
